Wishful Thinking Turned Into Reality

Last summer, I "pinned" a picture of some really cool bunkbeds.

I showed the picture to Bob and he agreed that they were cool and mentioned that he could probably build it for Lily and Elle.  We didn't talk about it again for about 6 months.  It then came time to move Blakely out of her crib and into a big girl bed. At the same time, Lily and Elle were expressing an interest in sharing a room, even though we have enough bedrooms for each girl to have their own.

Bob and I started to get excited about having a bedroom vacated to use as an office, so the conversation turned back to the picture that I had pinned six months prior.  We decided to go for it and ended up with our own version and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Bob really amazes me.  He had nothing but a picture -- no plan, no measurements, no materials list.  He just jumped in and created this beautiful room for the girls.  And then I had to paint it <sigh>.

Lily and Elle truly love it.  There were moments when Lily wavered on whether or not she wanted to share a room with her little sister.  Unfortunately, we were too far down the construction path to indulge her flippant and ever-changing desires.  Essentially, we told her "too late and too bad".  Fortunately, it has all worked out and I'd say they are two lucky little girls.
